About Live and Laven

Live and Laven (pronounced live as in living space and laven as in lay-ven) was born in February of 2025 and launched in October of 2025. According to the University of Michigan’s Middle English Dictionary, laven figuratively means to pour as it pertains to gifts and grace. This platform was created to be an outlet for creativity, healing, and healing through creativity- giving glory to God. This platform features a collection of poems written in the past called “The Lavender Archives”, a space for new poetry called “The River”, and a blog called “Live and Laven Blog”. The hope is to create community through the intimate act sharing writing and wisdom.

The creator of Live and Laven is Kierstyn Chambers. She is a two-time alum of Hampton University, from Birmingham, AL. She has her Bachelor of Arts in English Arts, Master of Teaching in Secondary English Education, and is a current MDiv candidate at Duke Divinity. Live and Laven is a blend of her love for writing and God. Her ultimate goal in life is to serve the world through purpose-driven work.
